Welcome to Pardes House

Providing solid foundations – Creating tools for growth – Building confidence for the future

Welcome to our school!

Pardes House is an over-subscribed, single-sex, voluntary aided Orthodox Jewish boys’ primary school, with almost 360 pupils. It is also the only such primary school in the London Borough of Barnet. The school, located in Finchley, North West London is now over 70 years old, opening on its current site in 1978 and became Voluntary-Aided in 2001. The school’s prime catchment is the Jewish communities of North West London and sometimes beyond, with the majority of pupils joining the school from the independent nursery on the same site.

A significant proportion of the day is dedicated to the Jewish Studies curriculum, which is taught alongside the National Curriculum. The school day is from 8.40am – 4.15pm. On Wednesdays, Years 4 – 6 attend an additional Jewish Studies session from 4.15 – 5.00pm. Extended services are provided through various clubs both before and after school.

The school holds eco-schools status and the Gold award for sustainable travel. Pardes House is also a partner of UK Parliament Week, a prem-aware school, the recipient of an award from the Speaker of the House of Commons and has been a winner of the Barnet schools British Values Project award.
