Early Years Foundation Stage – Reception
Our pupils follow a fabulous and busy curriculum, based on the EYFS seven areas of learning:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Mathematics
- Literacy
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Teachers and other staff carry out focused observations of children in order to assess their progress and achievements. The results of these observations have a direct impact on the planning process.

Assessment
Children in our Reception year group and constantly monitored using the Tapestry education platform. Both via its website and app, the Tapestry Platform provides comprehensive tools to help us build strong relationships with our boys families, also reducing barriers to engagement. Through Tapestry, we document each child’s unique learning and development, thereby enabling us to streamline our planning, monitoring and reporting processes through Reception.
